A is for Arm-Fall-Off Boy

Oh, hey, what have we here? Could it be? Could it possibly be? The first entry in a new blog series?!

Oh, just another one of those silly Legionnaires--AAAUUGHHH SWEET CHRISTMAS MAKE IT GO AWAY

Yes sir, your eyes do not deceive you! It’s the new Legion of Superheroes alphabet series, starting off on a truly unsettling note with Legion reject Arm-Fall-Off Boy! In his own words, “My power will astound you! Observe as I detach my limb– and transform it into a deadly weapon!” I can’t understand why they turned him down for membership in the Legion, honestly. Bludgeoning criminals with your own severed arm is a pretty amazing power. Plus he’d always have the element of surprise in a fight. Unless, you know, they knew his name or something.

While Arm-Fall-Off Boy is pretty far out, this is honestly┬ápar for the course with the Legion, (as we’ll see in coming entries packed chock-full of glorious insanity). Stay tuned!

  1. The name “Arm-Fall-Off Boy” sort of sounds like that band I know very little about, “Fall out boy”, is there a character named that in the Legion?

You’ve made his severed arm look like a meaty drumstick! Creepy and funny all at the same time!

Regardless, good work on the drawing! Your work is brilliant! Can’t wait for the rest of the series…

  2. Also reminds me of an old Jerry Springer episode ages ago where an angry lover was hitting his partner with a prosthetic arm. Classy! čÖü

  3. Steve, I’m creating a Squidoo lens about peculiar heroes, and I would like to use this drawing as the main image – there’s no better character to illustrate silly, and I’ve seen no better drawing of good ol’ AFOB.

I will gladly link back to this post or wherever you desire, and credit you for the work in whatever way you find best.
