Rocket Raccoon! Sam Simeon! Ted Kord!

by steve-o on October 6, 2009

That’s right, it’s a comics alphabet triple play! THREE entries jam-packed into one.

This marks the THIRD gorilla-centric post on the blog. I smell a trend!

Accompanying everybody’s favorite defender of the galaxy, Rocket Raccoon, is one half of the Angel and the Ape investigative team, the comics-drawing gorilla Sam Simeon. And standing tall in the back is Ted Kord, alias the Blue Beetle, genius inventor, superhero and all around good fella.

Also! I will give an Internet high five to anyone who can tell me where Rocket Raccoon’s weapon was originally featured.

Morning Steevo

Looks like a Verhoeven classic to me – Starship Troopers?

So you decided on LSH then? Still thinking what next for me – probably Old-timers :)

‘Sup Simon.

Nope! It’s actually a pulse rifle, from Aliens. (Somebody on a message board guessed it so I’m giving it up in here.)
Yeah, the Legion is gonna be my next series. There are a ton of really cool (or hilarious, which is even better) characters in their ranks, so I think there’s a lot of opportunity there.

Ach, was gonna say Aliens. But those guns were in Starship Troopers, I googled an image – Guess they raided the Aliens props box :D

Cheers for the comments on mine – Think I am going to do Old School – No character after 1956!

Idea! For the next series we could make up our own Legion, we meaning the readers with their comments.
Example:
‘Name: Pumpkin man!
Super-powers: He can turn anything into pumpkin pie.
Secret identity: A pumpkin!’
And so on and so forth. And then you draw it! Maybe you could make that so it’s not a whole alphabet series, but just five or ten of ‘em.
