The I read Jeff Parker and Leonard Kirk’s Marvel Comics miniseries, Agents Of Atlas. Namora is, as it turns out, an awesome character. (Apparently hanging out with a kung fu superspy, a Greek goddess, a talking gorilla, a Uranian spaceman and an indestructible robot rubs off on you after a while.) So yeah, Namora:

Yes sir, Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen. I wanted to do the Silver Age version, but there’s no way one illustration could do the madcap lunacy of that period justice. So here’s my Jimmy- kind of an amalgamation of Silver Age, modern, and All-Star Jimmy Olsen.

I know, I know. I totally missed posting anything last week. To make up for it, today’s post covers two letters of the alphabet! Both minor DC Comics characters, and both very fun to draw.

I’ve been itching to draw him for a long time now, though this entry was a toss-up between the two Captains– Captain Carrot and Dav Pilkey’s Captain Underpants. I couldn’t translate Cap’n U to my style without making him incredibly creepy… but maybe I’ll post those sketches another time.

Just FYI, I’m still taking suggestions for the rest of the lineup!

That’s right! Batroc The Leaper, Captain America’s French kickboxer foe. He’s awesome. No, really! The guy’s just so happy to be in the big leagues, you have to cut him some slack for the hilarious costume and zee atrocious Fronch accent!

So, I’m gonna try to establish a regular posting schedule on this blog.

Mondays will be the day I post images from the Comic Book Alphabet. I’ll be doing a series of 26, obviously, and I’ll try to focus on more obscure or C-list characters. (because there are plenty of pictures of Batman and Spider-Man on the Internet already, know what I mean?) With that in mind, here’s the first of the series:Adam Strange.
